Position Overview :
PayFit is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Company Lifecycle team, a key squad within the Company & Employee Experience tribe. Our mission is to help admins manage their company’s full lifecycle, from setup to activation and churn, through simple, inclusive experiences that save time and support growth.
You will work on:
Core features like company setup/self-onboarding, compliance checks, fraud management.
Managing multi-establishment structures, enabling oversight of multiple related companies.
Handling essential HRIS data and company lifecycle, exposing APIs and domain events used across PayFit.
The domain spans three countries and offers strategic challenges around architecture and scalability.
Your mission will be to design and deliver high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software while driving technical excellence and collaboration across teams.
You will:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, production-ready systems with performance and scalability in mind.
Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to shape impactful features and align on product and technical priorities.
Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the evolution of PayFit’s engineering practices through documentation, pairing, and mentorship.
Raise the bar on code quality, testing, observability, and developer experience across squads.
Foster a culture of learning, care, and continuous improvement within your team and beyond.
This role is for you if:
You have 5+ years of engineering experience, strong skills in TypeScript/Node.js (or similar), and a solid understanding of system design for scalable, reliable, and maintainable production systems.
You are experienced with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or Domain-Driven Design, and write clean, well-tested, production-ready code.
You promote high standards in testing, monitoring, and observability to ensure system reliability and performance.
You lead technical projects across squads, coordinate stakeholders, and effectively communicate through RFCs, ADRs, and architecture diagrams.
You use data-driven insights to make decisions, continuously improve outcomes, and align your work with business priorities by focusing on impactful efforts.
It would be great if you also:
You have led or contributed to technical migrations and platform evolutions across teams, while actively mentoring peers and raising the team’s technical standards.
You contribute to engineering culture by organizing talks, mentoring, and writing about best practices, while effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-engineers.
Are comfortable collaborating with infra/platform teams, and have experience improving developer experience and CI/CD pipelines.
Have experimented with GenAI or emerging technologies and can share how they might shape developer workflows.

Your future team:
You will join a collaborative squad of 3 Software Engineers, collaborating daily with an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager, and a Designer.
Your future manager, Badr, brings extensive experience in leading complex technical projects and is committed to supporting your growth and development in this role.
Hiring process:
1) A first call with our Talent Acquisition Specialist to explain you better the role and see your general fit to it. (30-45 mins)
2) A meeting with the Engineering Manager Badr to discuss your technical background. (45 mins)
3) A system design interview, focusing on distributed systems and web architecture + live technical challenge. (60-90 mins)
4) Meet a PM and a Designer : You will meet with members of the team to get to know them and further assess your fit within the organization. (30 min)
5) Final meeting with the Tribe Engineering Director. (30 mins)
